It’s Pi Day which means it’s time to post about the very talented Quelcy Kogel and Erin Pischke, the women, the legends behind the QTPi(e) Project. I ripped it from their site but here’s the short of it:
The QT Pi(e) Project is ….”a dorky pun to promote the health, nutritional, and taste benefits of eating local foods.”
For the long of it, check it out here.
This just in! They’re on the ReadyMade blog.
My friend Michelle Lee, a wonderful artist living in Brooklyn, recently updated her blog and I am jealous. I want it, all of it – the design, the work. Check it out here:
The above is a piece she was working on during her residency this fall at the Vermont Studio Center. Show her some love and click on over there.
I’m famous. Not quite at all but here’s a photograph that I love. My friend Adam Perella took it in Prospect Park recently. The ride down Myrtle Ave to get there was eventful – let’s just say potholes as big as craters once I hit Bushwick. There’s something pastoral about the setting, which is fantastic especially considering that there was a wedding taking place nearby and some people yelling over a chess game. It brings me back to a project I did of Pittsburgh cyclists posing with their bikes around the city. I ended up parlaying it into an article I shot for the sustainability magazine, Verdure. I’ll post some cyclists in the coming days.

My friend Lior Ben-Nissan has a new blog up and running dedicated to her photography. The images are beautiful and quiet and smart. I love her and her work. The composition, the color, the light … wonderful.

I posted one below so you’ll want to see more:

The lovely Michelle Lee will be having a show at Spinning Plate gallery tonight from 7-10. The gallery is on the corner of Baum and Friendship (5720 Friendship Avenue).
The show consists of large format charcoal drawings that cover the windows. She’s been writing here and there about the process. They look great!
