Peek into the sketchbook

Things are chugging along. Trying to catch up on some things, reorganize some others so in the meantime here’s a page from my sketchbook.

Recital

Recital, 2011 © Magali Duzant

Sally’s first performance…a collage I made in my sketchbook after reading this little study result:

Kids Can Use An iPhone, But Can’t Tie Shoes.

(I think the title of the link is better than the results, working with what I got)

He has tiger blood…

Is That So? Words to Live By Pt 1 – Because I’m Me (I’ve Got Tiger Blood), 2011
Charlie Sheen did some interviews yesterday. They are a bit mind blowing. He’s on a drug called, “Charlie Sheen” and it melts your face off – his words not mine. I had a coffee, some farina, a clementine and drew this in my sketchbook.

Sketchbook – Mission Pie

Page from the sketchbook, last weekend. Sunday, Feb. 20th, 2011. Michelle Lee and I are working on something. It’s hush-hush for now. It didn’t snow last night in San Francisco. Surprise!

Sketchbook – Doesn’t look like Brooklyn anymore…

I forecast folk costumes as the next ironic mustache…

Page from my journal. Thanks to Lior for the odd elf pages and Cy for the $3 champagne. Happy weekend!

I’m going to this tonight: PhotoAlliance lecture Lucas Foglia, Mike Mandel and Chantal Zakari are speaking.

Sketchbook – pink

As a photographer and illustrator I have a bit of a wonky sketchbook/journal. Lots of writing about what’s up, descriptions of photo ideas, silly diagrams, sketches, and tons of collages. I tend to collect all the paper ephemera I come into contact with and collage it by subject, idea, activity, or color. So here is one page from a year ago.

In other news, I am finally tackling it head on – the dreaded website remodel/update/whatever you want to call it. I’ve been working on it here and there, getting incredibly frustrated, starting over and over, and well now it’s a deep breath and a good work attitude! I’m doing a pretty simple layout, reworking categories, adding in illustration, and a new project that is under wraps. Fingers crossed!
